    Product Description

An original concept art design / storyboard from the production of the beloved biopic, 'Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story' (Universal Pictures, 1993), starring Jason Scott Lee and Lauren Holly and directed by ace-helmer, Rob Cohen ('The Fast and The Furious', 'Dragonheart').

Hand-painted by famed production artist, Nikita Knatz (Batman Returns and Predator), this beautifully articulated artwork depicts the character of Bruce Lee, standing in the doorway of the studio sound-stage with a typhoon raging outside. It has been rendered in mixed media (a superb matt original concept-drawing mounted on 8 x 11" bond paper). It includes the production notes, 'Int Sound Stage; Thru lots of FG equipment' and 'LS as BL enters stage, Monsoon Wind behind him' along the lower edge of the frame. The storyboard is identified by the number '5' in the top right corner and features the original punch holes from the art-department compilation-deck.

This stunning example of original production-artwork by one of the industry's most respected and prolific storyboard artists would make a wonderful addition to any collection celebrating Bruce Lee, the world of iconic pop-culture cinema or the celebrated career of Nikita Knatz (1940-2010).

The storyboard remains in very good 'production-used condition, with only minor handling-wear, and is perfect for framing...

The conceptual sequence depicted in this storyboard was not actually included in the final film. Instead, the finished sequence is introduced with a short montage of shots establishing the exterior of the Hong Kong film studios during a typhoon, along with the caption '32nd Day of Shooting - Enter the Dragon'. This is followed by a cut to Jason Scott Lee re-creating Bruce Lee's cat-like movements during the iconic 'Hall of Mirrors' sequence. Consequently, this beautiful storyboard  provides a fascinating insight into the unseen development phase of this very popular film.
