Star Wars: A New Hope - UK Quad Poster (Pre-Oscars Awards Style) -1977

We are very pleased to present one of the most desirable posters for one of the most famous and influential motion pictures of all time - 'Star Wars: A New Hope', released in 1977.

This stunning British UK Quad poster  - Pre-Oscars variant -  was used in the first weeks of the UK release but, following the Oscar nominations, was quickly replaced with the "Oscars" version to capitalise on the buzz and drive up ticket sales. Consequently, this incredible  "Pre-Oscars" iteration is by far the most collectable of the two UK Quad Posters. 

Tom Chantrell's beautifully articulated poster design for 'Star Wars' has stood the test of time and richly deserves the iconic status conferred upon it by fans and collectors alike. Chantrel was allowed to preview the film and was also given a set of photographic stills to aid in the production of his design. Unbelievably, he also took photos of his wife, posing as Princess Leia, in the back garden to provide further inspiration for his now world-famous poster artwork.

This example is presented in original folded (as issued) unrestored condition and displays to excellent effect.
