The Art of Cinema Exhibition: New Year, New Icons – Mandalorian, Harry Potter, Star Trek & Alien
The Art of Cinema Exhibition: The doors re-open on January 3rd, 2026. Please book your tickets here!
This New Year, we are thrilled to unveil five exceptional additions to our The Art of Cinema showcase that embody the very best of movie magic. When Moyses Hall Museum reopens its doors after the festive break, visitors will be the first to view a production-made Mandalorian helmet, the signature MandalorianIB-94 Blaster pistol, an original Harry Potter Golden Snitch prop, a Klingon Disruptor from Star Trek Enterprise, and an awe-inspiring scratch-built replica of the USCSS Nostromo from Ridley Scott's Alien (1979).
These rare artefacts and masterworks have been specially curated from the Kudos Memorabilia archives to lead a major mid-cycle refresh of the exhibition, offering a tangible connection to the biggest franchises in science fiction and fantasy.
The Way of the Mandalore: Helmet and Blaster
For Star Wars collectors and fans, the arrival of Din Djarin’s signature gear is a landmark moment. We are proud to display a production-made Mandalorian helmet, believed to have been worn by Pedro Pascal during Season 1. Far from a pristine replica, this piece features the subtle weathering and "lived-in" detailing that defines the series grounded, Western-inspired aesthetic.
Displayed alongside the helmet is an original production-made IB-94 Blaster pistol. This static prop, used in the making of Season 1, is a masterclass in prop fabrication. Constructed from high-grade plastic and resin, it features hand-painted distressing, and a faux-wood grip that captures the rugged utility of a bounty hunter’s sidearm.
150 Points to Gryffindor: The Golden Snitch
Balancing the Mandalorian’s steely presence, the refreshed line‑up also introduces a glittering icon from the wizarding world: a production‑made Golden Snitch prop from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Secured “thanks to a little Kudos Memorabilia wizardry”, the Snitch joins the exhibition as the film marks its 25th anniversary, making it a perfectly timed addition for fans who grew up with the series and a new generation discovering Hogwarts for the first time.
Up close, the prop reveals intricate engraved detailing and delicate wings that demonstrate the extraordinary level of artistry poured into even the smallest on‑screen objects. As the 150‑point match‑winner in Quidditch, the Golden Snitch carries huge emotional weight, instantly transporting visitors back to Harry’s first season as Seeker and to one of the most beloved moments in modern cinema.
Sci-Fi Legends: Alien and Star Trek
Completing our new lineup are two heavyweights from the world of science fiction history.
From the prequel series Star Trek: Enterprise (2001-2005), we are debuting a screen-used Klingon Disruptor. This prop represents an early variant of the iconic weapon used by the Klingons during their first tense interactions with humanity. Fabricated from resin with metal embellishments, this piece is a fascinating example of "found object" model making—the structural base of the prop is actually modified from a pressure washer handle! The paintwork exhibits bubbling and flaking consistent with heavy production use, giving it a battle-worn authenticity that Trekkies will love.
Industrial Horror: The USCSS Nostromo
Completing our trio of new arrivals is a stunning tribute to Ridley Scott’s 1979 masterpiece, Alien. We are showcasing an incredible scratch-built replica model of the USCSS Nostromo, complete with its massive oil refinery payload.
This large-scale model captures the "truckers in space" aesthetic that defined the film's visual style. Every girder, antenna, and exhaust port has been meticulously recreated, embodying the industrial, gothic atmosphere of the ship where Ripley faced the Xenomorph. It is a striking example of model-making excellence that allows visitors to examine the complex geometry of one of Sci-Fi’s most iconic vessels in three dimensions.
The Art of Cinema – Batman to Beskar
The mid‑cycle refresh builds on an already exceptional offer at Moyses Hall Museum, where The Art of Cinema – an “exhibition within an exhibition” developed with Kudos Memorabilia – sits inside the long‑running Sci‑Fi and Action Exhibition. For a single ticket price, visitors can explore both the museum’s popular sci‑fi displays and a rotating line‑up of high‑profile screen‑used props and costumes. Please check out our fun promo video:
Headline pieces include a production‑made Batman cowl created for Michael Keaton in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, which has helped cement his status as a definitive, brooding Caped Crusader for legions of fans. The cowl is displayed alongside costumes and props from Bond (including Ana de Armas’s dress from No Time To Die), The Crown (Elizabeth Debicki’s Princess Diana “revenge dress”), Yellowstone (Kevin Costner’s cowboy outfit), The Rise of Skywalker (a production-used Stormtrooper helmet), Star Trek, Alien and more, underlining the exhibition’s ambition to celebrate film memorabilia as an art form in its own right.
A partnership powering big‑screen magic
At the heart of this ambitious programme is a growing partnership between West Suffolk Council and Kudos Memorabilia. West Suffolk Council provides the historic setting, community reach and commitment to cultural access, while Kudos contributes screen‑used treasures from across its portfolio, enabling a regional museum to display pieces more commonly seen in major international institutions or private collections.
This collaborative model means visitors pay once but enjoy the combined impact of Moyses Hall’s Sci‑Fi and Action Exhibition and Kudos’s Art of Cinema showcase, now enhanced mid‑run by the arrival of The Mandalorian helmet and the Harry Potter Golden Snitch. It is part of West Suffolk’s wider investment in leisure and culture, attracting residents and tourists alike and supporting a vibrant local visitor economy.
Why Kudos opens its vaults...
Kudos Memorabilia’s driving belief is that the greatest film and television props should not vanish into private vaults – they should be seen, studied and enjoyed by as many people as possible. Screen‑used pieces such as The Mandalorian’s helmet or the Golden Snitch ball embody the work of designers, sculptors, model‑makers and performers, and seeing them in person reveals details – from hand‑finished paintwork to carefully applied weathering – that even the sharpest 4K image can miss.
By loaning key items from its portfolio to public exhibitions, Kudos helps democratise a world often associated solely with high‑end collecting, offering families, students and casual fans the same spine‑tingling moment of recognition as seasoned collectors. The company’s team has emphasised that witnessing visitors’ reactions – especially when they realise, they are inches away from the exact helmet, dress or prop that appeared on screen – is a major reason they continue to share their archive with the viewing public and to seek out new partnerships like the one at Moyses Hall.
A must‑see moment in the run
With the mid‑cycle refresh now in place, there has never been a better time to visit Moyses Hall Museum’s Sci‑Fi and Action Exhibition and The Art of Cinema. Alongside festival‑level headline items such as Michael Keaton’s Batman cowl, visitors can now stand face to face with a Mandalorian helmet from the hit Disney+ series and a Golden Snitch from the very first Harry Potter film, all under one medieval roof in the heart of Bury St Edmunds.
From serious film buffs to families looking for an unforgettable day out, the partnership between West Suffolk Council and Kudos Memorabilia ensures the exhibition offers something for everyone – and proves that true movie magic does not only live on the screen, but in the real, tangible objects that helped bring these stories to life.
