Marilyn Monroe in Blue Bathing Suit – Classic Photograph by Bernard of Hollywood

100th Special - Extra 10% OFF at CHECKOUT

A stunning limited edition large-format colour photograph of Marilyn Monroe reclining on a diving board, in a blue swimsuit, at the exclusive Racquet Club in Palm Springs, California. The photograph is numbered numbered 2/50 and signed by the Estate of Bruno Bernard in the lower margin.

Marilyn radiates youthful vitality, sensuality and a powerful camera presence in this stunning image- qualities which caught the eye of Johnny Hyde, Vice President of the William Morris Agency, who happened to be visiting the Racquet Club at the same time this historic photo was taken. This encounter with Hyde would earn Marilyn a seven-year contract with 20th Century Fox - the studio with whom she would launch her legendary film career. The rest, of course, is history!

Bernard is credited with popularising pin-up photography and first photographed Marilyn, then Norma Jeane, in 1947.

PROVENANCE From the Estate of Bruno Bernard. This item comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
