    Product Description

    Marilyn Monroe, Tobey Beach, New York, 1949

    A timeless black & white silver gelatin print of a young playful Marilyn modelling a swimsuit on New York's Tobay Beach in 1949. 

    The work, printed in 1992, features The Artist's Stamp, The Artist's Estate Stamp, The Edward Weston Collection Stamp, The Norma Jeane & Marilyn Collection Copyright Stamp, and Reproduction Rights Stamp signed and dated in ink by the artist's wife (Shirley) verso. 

    The photo has a glossy surface with light, hairline emulsion craquelure visible under raking light and a tiny linear surface impression on Marilyn's left buttock visible under raking light.

    The print has been previously exhibited at The Joseph Bellows Gallery, La Jolia, California and featured by The Society Stylist LLC, Dallas.

    André De Dienes (1913-1985) came to the United States from Hungary in 1938. He settled in California and quickly made a speciality of plein-air photography of the female nude form.
