Crimson Tide: Gene Hackman's ( Captain Ramsey) Naval Officer's Black Dress Jacket

A black double-breasted uniform jacket embellished with gold insignia to the cuffs and imitation brass buttons. It was designed and custom-made by costume-designer, George L. Little, for two-time Oscar winner, Gene Hackman, in his iconic role as 'Captain Ramsey' in Hollywood Pictures' seminal submarine thriller, 'Crimson Tide'. 

The action-suspense-thriller and box office smash-hit, "Crimson Tide" (1995), was a modern day take on "Mutiny on the Bounty"set on a US Nuclear Missile Submarine, and the battle is between a Lt. Commander (Denzel Washington) and the Submarine Captain (Gene Hackman), who is hell bent on launching missiles into Russia.

'Crimson Tide' gave Hollywood heavyweights Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington to go toe to toe, and the dramatic results were mesmerising. Many critics would place Gene Hackman's performance in the film within his Top Ten of all time!

The jacket shows some minor wear from use in the production and comes with an official Disney Auctions Certificate of Authenticity.
