Skyfall - US Advance One-Sheet Poster

The iconic US Advance One-Sheet Skyfall Poster (Eon Productions, 2012) is a standout piece of modern James Bond film artwork and an excellent example of a highly sought-after James Bond collectible.

Skyfall (2012) is the 23rd instalment in the James Bond series, directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig in his third outing as 007. Stylish, gripping, and emotionally resonant, the film explores Bond’s loyalty to M and the personal cost of service in the shadows. As a result, original Skyfall film posters like this one have become increasingly popular with collectors.

When a mission in Istanbul goes wrong and a hard drive containing the identities of undercover agents is stolen, MI6 comes under direct attack. Bond, presumed dead, resurfaces to track down the threat—a mysterious figure from M’s past named Silva, a vengeful former agent with a personal vendetta and chilling cyberterrorist capabilities. This narrative depth is a big part of why the James Bond Skyfall poster remains such a compelling display piece.

As Bond follows Silva’s trail from London to Macau and finally to the remote Scottish Highlands, he must confront not only a ruthless enemy, but also the ghosts of his own past. The story builds to a dramatic and tragic showdown at Skyfall, Bond’s ancestral home — imagery that has made the 007 Skyfall poster especially appealing to fans of the franchise.

Released to mark the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, Skyfall was both a critical and commercial triumph. With a haunting score, powerful performances — particularly from Judi Dench as M — and breathtaking cinematography by Roger Deakins, the film redefined Bond for the modern era. For collectors, this places the Skyfall poster firmly within the conversation around authentic and high-quality James Bond memorabilia.

One of the most visually stunning sequences in Skyfall takes place in Shanghai, where Bond engages in a tense fight with an assassin in a high-rise building—silhouetted against a glowing, ever-shifting digital billboard. The scene is remarkable not only for its striking visual style but also for the extraordinary lengths the crew went to in order to capture it.

Rather than using CGI to create the cityscape and lighting effects, cinematographer Roger Deakins insisted on using practical lighting as much as possible. The production team built a full-scale set on the 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios, complete with floor-to-ceiling glass walls and mirrored surfaces to simulate the skyscraper's interior. Giant LED panels were used outside the set to simulate the flickering neon of Shanghai’s skyline—creating the hypnotic glow that bathes the characters during their fight.

The complex lighting made filming the fight particularly challenging, as the reflections had to be meticulously managed, and the choreography had to be timed perfectly with the light changes. Daniel Craig and his stunt double trained extensively to ensure the scene could be captured in long, fluid takes without relying on quick cuts.

The result is one of the most visually iconic moments in the Bond franchise—a seamless blend of atmosphere, action, and artistry. It also helped secure Skyfall an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography, a rare honour for an action film.
