- Additional Information
During the filming of For Your Eyes Only, one particularly memorable moment occurred while shooting the helicopter sequence at Beckton Gas Works in London. The scene called for some daring aerial manoeuvres, and renowned helicopter pilot Marc Wolff was at the controls. At one point, director John Glen needed the helicopter to fly through a warehouse with barely a few feet of clearance on either side. It was a hair-raising ask.
As the crew held their breath, Wolff expertly guided the aircraft through the narrow gap with such precision that the rotors missed the walls by mere inches. Roger Moore, watching from a safe distance, reportedly quipped, “Remind me never to accept a lift from him.” The tension turned into applause once the take was completed, with Glen calling it “one of the most nail-biting shots” he’d ever captured.
It’s a moment that highlighted both the risks and the craftsmanship that went into making For Your Eyes Only one of the more grounded, stunt-heavy entries in the Bond franchise.
