Assassin's Creed - An original Production-Made Medieval Long Leaf-Head Spear
An original production-made medieval spear created for the 2016 feature film Assassin's Creed.
Produced by the film's armoury department for Assassin's Creed, this full-length spear was created for use during the spectacular fifteenth-century Spanish battle sequences that form the historical heart of the film.
Featuring an elegant leaf-shaped spearhead mounted on a full-length wooden shaft, the weapon has been professionally finished with extensive studio ageing to recreate the appearance of a well-used medieval battlefield spear. It's simple yet highly authentic design reflects the practical military equipment carried by Spanish soldiers and guards throughout the production's large-scale action scenes.
Michael Fassbender, as Aguilar, can be seen wielding a Long Leaf-Head Spear during the famous courtyard battle sequence. Please see our included reference image in the gallery.
Assassin’s Creed (2016), directed by Justin Kurzel, is a live-action adaptation of Ubisoft’s acclaimed video game franchise. The film follows Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender), who is forced to relive the memories of his 15th-century ancestor, Aguilar de Nerha, through revolutionary technology known as the Animus. As Aguilar battles the Templar Order in 1492 Spain, Callum begins to inherit his ancestor’s extraordinary abilities and becomes drawn into the centuries-old conflict between Assassins and Templars.
The film has retained a strong following among fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Its enduring appeal lies in the faithful recreation of key elements from the games, including the Animus, the Assassin Brotherhood, parkour-inspired movement, elaborate historical settings and the iconic conflict with the Templars. The film’s practical stunt work, detailed costumes and weaponry, and Michael Fassbender’s physical performance have also made its surviving production props particularly desirable to collectors and enthusiasts.
Elegant in its proportions and visually striking in its simplicity, this spear represents an outstanding example of the craftsmanship employed by the production armoury and makes an exceptional display piece for collectors of original film memorabilia.

- Additional Information
The physicality of Aguilar’s combat scenes was not simply the work of stunt doubles. Michael Fassbender estimated that he performed approximately 95 percent of his own fight work for Assassin’s Creed, undertaking extensive training with the film’s stunt team to prepare for the demanding choreography. During production, Fassbender trained five days a week, combining physical conditioning with repeated rehearsals of the fights before stepping in front of the camera.
Director Justin Kurzel deliberately wanted Aguilar’s movements to feel human rather than superhuman. Instead of presenting the Assassins as effortlessly moving through combat, he wanted audiences to feel the weight of every impact, fall and landing. That philosophy helped give Aguilar’s large-scale confrontation with the Templar soldiers its unusually physical character, with much of the fighting performed practically on set rather than created entirely through visual effects.
