Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story - Production Concept Art 10 (Two Storyboards)
A duo of original concept art designs / storyboards from the production of the beloved biopic, 'Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story' (Universal Pictures, 1993), starring Jason Scott Lee and Lauren Holly and directed by ace-helmer, Rob Cohen ('The Fast and The Furious', 'Dragonheart').
Hand-painted by famed production artist, Nikita Knatz (Batman Returns and Predator), these two beautifully articulated storyboards depict the character of Bruce Lee in a life and death struggle with his demonic nemesis during the film's climactic fight sequence. Both storyboards are rendered in mixed media. The sequence showcasing the Phantom's glowing eyes features two detailed glossy drawings mounted on 8 x 11" bond paper. The sequence of Bruce pinned against his own fictional gravestone is a superb glossy original concept-drawing bonded to the same paper-stock.. Both storyboards include production-notes detailing the intended shot-sequence. On Board D: 'A. Up L Phantom eyes glowing etc, ready (crab claw) to kill...' and 'B. A sudden flash change of light from OS distracts him'. On Board E: 'Reverse L: The Phantom turns away from BL...'. The first storyboard is identified by the letter 'D' in the top right corner and the second by the letter 'E' in the same position. Both feature the original punch holes from the art-department compilation-deck.
This sequence is both evocative and heartbreaking for devoted fans of Bruce Lee, given the tragic foreshadowing of events from his real life story.
The storyboards remain in very good 'production-used' condition, with only minor handling-wear, and are perfect for framing...
