    Product Description

A lovely silver-gelatin photograph of Marilyn by André De Dienes from their famous photoshoot at the Bel Air Hotel, Stone Canyon, California, in 1952.

The sheet appears to be slightly undulating along mat edges; gloss finish; faint, hairline emulsion craquelure visible under raking light; appear to be scattered small dots of possible repair/restoration on ground, visible under raking light. It features the artist's stamp verso.

The print has been previously exhibited at The Andrew Weiss Gallery, Beverly Hills, California and featured by The Society Stylist LLC, Dallas.

André De Dienes (1913-1985) came to the United States from Hungary in 1938. During his celebrated career, he worked for Vogue, Life and Esquire. He settled in California in 1944 and quickly made a speciality of plein-air photography of the female nude form. In addition to Marilyn, De Dienes also photographed Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando, Henry Fonda, Ingrid Bergman, Fred Astaire and Ronald Reagan.
