    Product Description

    This historic photo was taken during filming of 'The Seven Year Itch' and features Marilyn standing over the subway ventilation grill in the classic movie's most famous scene. This stunning black and white silver-gelatin print was created by the artist in the early 1970s from his original negatives. it features his personal signature recto, whilst his studio stamp appears verso.

    Barris first met Marilyn during the production of the film, and the two become firm friends. This photo, originally shot in the summer of 1954, beautifully captures an iconic and timeless moment from one of Marilyn's best and most loved films. 

    George Barris was born on June 14th, 1922, in Manhattan, New York City. When his brother bought him a box camera for his 6th birthday, he began a lifelong love affair with photography. He has captured unforgettable images of icons like Steve McQueen, Charlie Chaplin, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Clark Gable and Elizabeth Taylor.
