This captivating chromogenic print of Marilyn wrapped in a towel was personally produced and signed by George Barris in 1987. It measures 13-1/2 x 10-1/4 inches (34.3 x 26.0cm) and features the artist's signature in ink recto. It is editioned 'A.P' on the Barris copyright credit stamp verso and was officially published by Marilyn Monroe/Weston Editions Ltd. 

Barris first met Marilyn in 1954 on the set of The Seven Year Itch, and the two become firm friends. This photo, originally shot on July 13th, 1962, was part of Marilyn's last photo assignment before her tragic and premature death on  August 5th, 1962.

George Barris was born on June 14th, 1922, in Manhattan, New York City. When his brother bought him a box camera for his 6th birthday, he began a lifelong love affair with photography. He has captured unforgettable images of icons like Steve McQueen, Charlie Chaplin, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Clark Gable and Elizabeth Taylor.
