    Product Description

    Marilyn in The Hollywood Hills

This gorgeous Gelatin silver photograph was originally shot by George Barris in July, 1962, in front of a rented house on Blue Jay Way in the Hollywood Hills. It is titled "Marilyn Flirting' and features fashion by Pucci. It has been signed by the artist in ink, lower left corner, recto.

In 2012, Barris told The Huffington Post: “What I particularly liked about Marilyn was that she didn’t act like a movie star... I was most impressed that Marilyn was always polite and friendly to everyone on the set. She was no phony or snob... Marilyn’s beauty is on my mind constantly."

George first met Marilyn in 1954, whilst she was in New York City filming on location for 'The Seven Year Itch'. George was immediately captivated, and he and Marilyn soon became friends. Sadly, George was the last professional photographer to take pictures of Marilyn on Santa Monica Beach (July 13th, 1962) - just a few weeks before her tragic and untimely death.
