No Time to Die - Paloma's Hero Dress and Sandals with Certification by EON

This is a true treasure for any fan of genuine screen-used Bond memorabilia - Paloma's (Ana de Armas) hero dress and sandals from Cary Joji Fukunaga's Bond film No Time to Die

Paloma donned her dress and sandals when she joined James Bond (Daniel Craig) in Cuba to infiltrate a SPECTRE party and extract MI6 scientist Dr. Valdo Obruchev (David Dencik) - and also for the epic fight sequence during Bond's Cuban mission phase. The same dress also featured prominently in the character poster for Paloma during the film's promotional campaign.

No Time to Die (2021) is the 25th James Bond film and marks Daniel Craig's final appearance as the iconic British spy. In the film, Bond has retired from active service but is drawn back into the world of espionage when his old friend, Felix Leiter, asks for his help in rescuing a kidnapped scientist. Bond soon discovers that the mission leads him to a mysterious villain, Safin (Rami Malek), who is armed with a dangerous new technology that threatens global security. As Bond uncovers deeper conspiracies, he must confront his past, including his complex relationship with Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), while racing against time to stop Safin's devastating plan. The film explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the personal cost of being a secret agent, offering a shocking conclusion to Bond's arc under Craig's portrayal.

One of the very best scenes in No Time to Die sees Paloma (Ana De Armas) and Bond fighting off a group of armed adversaries. It was very demanding for the actors and required de Armas to perform a variety of physical stunts, including martial arts fighting, using firearms, and taking down multiple enemies in quick succession. To achieve the fluidity and realism of the scene, de Armas did many of her own stunts - all while wearing a evening dress and high heeled sandals!

The choreography of the fight was designed to showcase Paloma’s unexpected combat prowess. The scene is dynamic and fast-paced, with Paloma and Bond working together seamlessly, covering each other's backs while exchanging a few humorous remarks. This added to the chemistry between the characters, making it both thrilling and entertaining. This combination of compelling made the scene - and Paloma, in particular - a lasting favourite with fans of the film

This beautiful "Alexandra" navy blue silk dress from designer, Michael Lo Sordo, and the silver Aquazzura high-heeled sandals both come with production-tags labeled "Hero #1".

The lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from EON Archive Director Meg Simmonds.

In interviews, Ana de Armas revealed that shooting the fight scene was physically demanding, but she enjoyed the challenge. She said that while she was initially nervous about the intense physicality required, she found the experience of working with the stunt team rewarding. According to de Armas, the choreography was complicated, especially since the scene required her to switch between different types of combat—everything from unarmed hand-to-hand combat to quick draws with a gun.

The fight scene is also famous for how Paloma’s character quickly adapts to the chaotic situation, making the combat look almost effortless, yet she has moments of surprise, humor, and slight clumsiness that make her character more endearing. The use of light-heartedness amid a dangerous situation became one of the key factors in making the scene stand out.

The scene also helped to establish Paloma as a strong yet relatable character, and Ana de Armas received widespread praise for her performance. Her combination of strength, humor, and vulnerability in the scene was one of the highlights of the film. While Bond is typically the one saving the day, Paloma holds her own during the fight, showing her capability as an agent.

Cary Joji Fukunaga, known for his detailed approach to action sequences, worked closely with de Armas to ensure that the fight felt authentic while keeping it lighthearted in the context of the film. The sequence was designed to be fun, fast, and punchy, providing a contrast to the more serious and intense parts of the film, and giving audiences a refreshing new character to root for.

Overall, Paloma’s fight scene in No Time to Die is a great example of the balance between action, humor, and character development, showcasing Ana de Armas’ talent and physicality while adding an extremely memorable moment to the film.
