    Product Description

    Marilyn in The Hollywood Hills

This sumptuous gelatin silver photograph was originally shot by George Barris in July, 1962, inside a rented house on Blue Jay Way in the Hollywood Hills. It is titled "Marilyn Sitting Pretty' and features fashion by Pucci. It has been signed by the artist in felt-tip pen, lower right, recto. Additionally, the photographer's stamp and archive stamp appear verso.

Corners are minimally bumped and light creases are present in lower left corner; otherwise this beautiful print remains in very good condition.

George Barris was born on June 14th, 1922, in Manhattan, New York City. When his brother bought him a box camera for his 6th birthday, he began a lifelong love affair with photography. He has captured unforgettable images of icons like Steve McQueen, Charlie Chaplin, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Clark Gable and Elizabeth Taylor. George favoured Rolleiflex and Nikon cameras for his professional work.
