A rare full-bleed UK Quad Poster, on linen, for the James Bond franchises's perennial classic, 'Goldfinger', released on September 18th, 1964.
Designed by American graphic-artist, Robert Brownjohn, this celebrated poster features a stunning composite of a golden girl as the lead image overlayed with a smaller image of Sean Connery, as secret agent, James Bond, with his gun prone and his arms wrapped around lead actress, Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore), in a protective embrace. Glamour model, Margaret Nolan, appears as the golden girl in both this poster design and in Brownjohn's memorable movie title-sequence. She also has a brief role as 'Dink' in the first act of the film. Famously, however, British actress, Shirley Eaton, actually played the now unforgettable role of Jill Masterson, Bond's beautiful paramour and the one lethally sprayed with gold paint by Goldfinger's henchman, Oddjob.
Directed by Guy Hamilton, produced by EON Productions and distributed by United Artists, 'Goldfinger' is one of the most iconic British films of all time and is regarded by many as perhaps the finest James Bond movie ever made. It is certainly the film that launched the Bond franchise into high gear and set the stage for the enduring success of the greatest and longest-running film franchise in the history of motion pictures.
This beautiful poster has no missing paper and is linen-backed. It has received colour touch-ups to the creasing in the corners and on the fold lines and has been graded as 'very fine'. This stylish poster is perfect for framing and celebrates one of the greatest pop-culture icons of The 20th Century!
